Book excerpt: With the gaining popularity of social media for the promotion of political campaigns, a hole exists in research where framing of the candidates in a Web 2.0 media environment is concerned. This quantitative content analysis probes existing presidential campaign frames to discover how they have evolved from previous elections. Findings offer insight into how the audience engages with the frames presented on Facebook by FOX News and Huffington Post Politics. The most salient frames presented by both outlets are identified and user comments are tracked to find how the two-way communication model contributes to the framing of presidential candidate.
