Download or read book Surface Phenomena in Melts written by S. I. Popel and published by Cambridge International Science Pub. This book was released on 2003-11-01 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The methods of determination of the surface properties of liquids at the interface with saturated vapours and another condensed phase are presented. The modelling-thermodynamic method is used to discuss the isotherms of the surface and interfacial tension of metallic, oxide and salt melts, and the absorption of components and adhesion of phases are evaluated. The electrochemical properties of the interfaces, the processes of spreading of melts on the solid and liquid surfaces, capillary saturation and bonding of the particle by liquid interlayers are examined.
