All chancery record books except for the first volume are indexed by plaintiff. Chancery cases are indexed by both plaintiff and defendant in the master index covering the record books of all three Orleans County courts between 1800 and 1899 (see Series ORCC-002). Prior to 1842, chancery decrees were recorded in the supreme court record books (see Series SUPR-OR-003). There are no record book entries for the year 1841.
