Cases which did not result in a decree, such as injunctions, are not included. Pre-1843 chancery decrees are recorded in supreme court and supreme court in chancery record books (see Series SUPR-FR 002). After 1843, when chancery court had fully separated from the supreme court, decrees were entered in chancery record books. Entries are arranged chronologically by court term and volumes are indexed by plaintiff. A general index of county court, supreme court, and chancery court judgments covers the years 1805-1890. This volume is indexed by both plaintiff and defendant, in alphabetical order by court term. Entries refer to record book volumes and page numbers.
