Book excerpt: Recent BABAR results on rare B decays involving flavour-changing neutral currents or purely leptonic final states are presented. New measurements of the CP asymmetries in B 2!K*[gamma], B 2!K*2(1430)[gamma], and b 2!s[gamma] are reported, as well as a new measurement of the B 2!K*[gamma] branching fraction. Also reported are updated limits on B 2![mu][nu] and recent measurements of B 2!K(*)ll and b 2!sll. The data sample comprises 123 · 106 [Upsilon](4S) 2!B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ee− storage ring.
