But that is another story - and another Annual Report. Now it is time to tell that other story, in that other Annual Report, and the events of the past year have largely justified our feeling that the prospect for important additions to our collection in 1942 were not very bright. The Curator of Mammals sums up the situation in these words: No direct importations of mammals were received during the year and only a mere handful of specimens was added, most of these coming from dealers who had, in turn, received them from other zoological gardens in this country. The end of the year found the wild animal business prae tically at a standstill and the country's largest dealer serving in the United States Army.
