As the title Of this book implies, the greater part of it is taken up with a description of Western practice. At the end of this chapter on sawmills some notes on British practice are given. But it should be clearly understood that they are only fragmentary. The writer did not have time to study the matter in detail, and to describe it fully would require a good sized volume.
