The abstracts have been made for the Society by Miss Ethel Stokes, who was asked to examine every case relating to Lanca shire and Cheshire, and this volume, therefore, contains a note of every such case occurring in the material examined, i.e. Up to Bundle 21, no. 40, of the reign of Henry VIII.
