Book excerpt: Excerpt from Forty-Eighth Annual Report of the Board of Trustees and Officers of the Ohio Institution for the Education of the Blind, to the Governor of the State of Ohio: For the Year 1884 Gentlemen: I have the honor to submit the following report During the portion Of the fiscal year which has elapsed Since my con nection with the Institution there has been very little Sickness - slight catarrhal affections of the throat, stomach and bowels, malarial fevers, and acute rheumatism. I have noticed a number of the pupils manifesting symptoms Of chorea. This is more marked among the boys. I am not prepared to say positively what produces this, but am trying to ascertain it. Since the beginning Of the present term I have secured record books, and in my next report will be able to make a statistical and de tailed report Of all cases Of Sickness in the Institution.
