Principal, George Schilthuis, summoned AL to his office to expel him. Upon learning what AL was doing during his absence Mr. Schilthuis, chose to give AL permission to miss school three afternoons a week to work at the airport and fly. Al was a pilot for the Flying Tigers for 35 years. Since retirement AL has been a Real Estate Broker, Toastmaster, Auctioneer, Youth Motivational Speaker, and is an author.
