Book excerpt: Excerpt from Evaluation of Three-Terminal and Four-Terminal Pair Capacitors at High Frequencies The low frequency (l khz) capacitance values of three-terminal and four-terminal pair air dielectric capacitors can be extrapolated to higher frequencies if the residual series inductance is known. A resonance method for evaluating the residual series inductance of these capacitor types, together with the extrapolation procedure, is described. For the region where ghe product of capacitance in farads and frequency in hertz is 10' or less, uncertainties of one percent or less may be obtained.
