Book excerpt: Colin Privy was bored with his life as an historical researcher in Boston. However, nothing could have prepared him for the strange direction his life would take in a span of just two weeks. It started with an encounter with two strange men in Trinity Church and quickly turned into a race for what Colin realized might be the Holy Grail. He was joined in this race by an attractive, yet mysterious, woman, named Kick Cavanaugh, who unbeknownst to Colin was keeping a rather large secret from him. This mystery takes them on a wild and at times treacherous chase that leads them from the intellectual institutions to the subway tunnels of Boston-from the North Shore of Massachusetts to Cape Cod and to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument. In the end, the mystery takes an unexpected turn, thrusting Colin into a plot that not only has high personal stakes, but also could impact the entire galaxy.
