Book excerpt: This is the third annual report and accounts of the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA), which was established in April 2003 from the merger of the Vehicle Inspectorate and the Traffic Area Network division of the Department for Transport. The report considers the Agency's activities and performance against key targets during 2005-06, during which period the Agency completed its roll-out of MOT computerisation to over 18,000 garages, and the roll-out of hand-held devices to allow examiners access to real-time data at the roadside to enable better enforcement capabilities.
