World War I ended in November of 1918 but some Americans were ordered to continue to fight and die for an unknown reason in a far away country. the American soldiers complained bitterly about a number of areas: they felt mistreated by their British superiors, they were not told why they were to continue to fight after the Armistice, they felt their British counterparts were given special treatment and most importantly, they felt abandoned by their own government.
