The other volumes are daily logs with information on arrival and departure times, weather, river conditions, changes in crew, and boat maintenance. No notes for time periods when Stout was not on the river, except for 1883 (v.2) which includes brief personal diary entries while at home, Aug.-Oct. 1883. Volumes 8 and 10-12 (1889-1928) include numerous pencil sketches of the arrangement of the towboat and barges on the water at various points during trips.
