These skills need to be taught in correctional educ. programs. They include not just basic literacy but such things as how to write an application letter and resume; how to prepare for and participate in a job interview; how to deal with supervisors and other authority figures, and provide responsible and consistent work performance; knowledge about budgeting, credit, insur., taxes, and other daily living areas; and parenting, health and nutrition. This report examines 19 grantees from DoE to develop life skills programs.
