Lawrence are compared, and the contributions of each to modern guerrilla warfare are discussed. The variables of personal philosophy, time, and geographical area are used to determine the degree of specificity of their contributions to the general theory of guerrilla operations. The differences between their strategies are assessed to be in degree, except where political considerations are involved. Mao's influence on guerrilla strategy appears to exceed that of Lawrence based upon the utilization of Mao's political military strategic concepts by modern Communist revolutionaries. (Author).
