Book excerpt: This Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL) handbook is a collaboratively produced effort providing the Warfighter with techniques and strategies to successfully operate in a denied, degraded, and disrupted space operational environment (D3SOE). It provides information derived from lessons learned and best practices on how to effectively integrate space capabilities into mission planning, training, and mitigation strategies for operating in a D3SOE. The space domain is a vital component of the emerging concept of the multi-domain battle and the Warfighter is reliant on the capabilities it provides to be successful in executing operations. We must leverage space capabilities in preparation for current conflicts. Today's adversaries are aware of the U.S. military's use of space-enabled equipment and will try to disrupt those assets. The space domain is critically important to Joint/Coalition forces and it takes an integrated team effort to succeed and remain ahead of our potential adversaries.
